Its a Masquerade!

My Parents were invited to a Masquerade Party in celebration of one of their friend's birthdays. My Mom asked that I make her and my Dad masks to wear for the evening...and after spending a little bit too much time and money at Micheal's, I came up with these two masks:

Hers: Gold mask with black and gold feathers on the left side with a big gold ribbon flower. The edge of the mask and the eyes are outlined with gold glitter glue.

His: Gold mask with black and gold feathers along the top. The outside edge and the eyes are outlined with gold glitter glue.

I actually ended up using the same black plastic mask as the base for these masks. I cut down one mask into a more feminine shape and kept the other mask as is. I painted both with several coats of gold paint. The Her mask was mounted on a dowel that was covered with brown ribbon. I bought the black feathers in a bag. The brown feathers were actually a Christmas ornament that i took apart to create some contrast to the black feathers.

Overall I like how classy the masks look.  I will post a full list of supplies soon. There are plenty of leftovers, and I'm thinking of possible Halloween costumes I could make with them!
